Here, you'll find the current rules that apply to the server. Please respect other players and staff. Breaking these rules can result in a mute, kick, or ban, depending on the severity of the rule-breaking. We are an English-only server. Please understand that it is impossible to moderate the server effectively when multiple languages are spoken in chat.

1.0 - Respect all players
Remember, you will primarily use a public chat with people of varying ages and ethnic backgrounds. All players and staff on this server must be treated with respect and dignity. Disrespectful or disruptive behaviour of any kind is not allowed. This includes, but is not limited to:

1.1 - Insults or Harassment: Personal attacks, name-calling, or targeting others with malicious intent.
1.2 - Trolling or Obnoxious Behaviour: Intentional actions aimed at annoying, provoking, or upsetting others.
1.3 - Discrimination: Comments or actions that are racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, or otherwise discriminatory.
1.4 - Excessive Negativity: Complaining, arguing, or bringing down the community's mood non-constructively.
1.5 - Disrespect towards Staff: Ignoring instructions, arguing over decisions, or showing contempt for staff efforts.
1.6 - Passive-Aggressive behaviour: Veiled insults, sarcasm meant to harm, or indirect hostility.
1.7 - Inappropriate Humour: Jokes or comments that are offensive, insensitive, or inappropriate for our community.
1.8 - Sharing Personal Information: Sharing information about another player from the server without permission, regardless of its truthfulness.
1.9 - Controversial Topics: Engaging in conversations that are considered controversial by your fellow players or staff.

1.1.1 - Dating
To ensure the safety and well-being of all players, any form of romantic or inappropriate relationship between adults (18 and over) and minors (under 18) is strictly prohibited on this server. This includes, but is not limited to:

1.1.2 - Romantic Engagements: Adults may not engage in or pursue any romantic or flirtatious behaviour with minors, this includes getting married on the server.
1.1.3 - Inappropriate Communications: All interactions between adults and minors must remain friendly, appropriate, and strictly related to gameplay. Adults are prohibited from offering personal advice, mentorship, or services to minors.
1.1.4 - Respecting Boundaries: Conversations between adults and minors should remain friendly and related to the game.

Enforcement:
Violations of this policy will result in severe consequences, including bans and possible reports to appropriate authorities.

2.0 - Encouraging Rule Violations:
Encouraging, suggesting, or inciting others to break the server's rules is strictly prohibited. This includes but is not limited to:

2.1 - Promoting Disrespectful Behaviour: Encouraging others to engage in toxic, disrespectful, or disruptive actions.
2.2 - Fostering Rule-breaking: Persuading or convincing players to exploit bugs, cheat, or use inappropriate language.
2.3 - Influencing Negative Conduct: Instigating arguments, conflicts, or any activity that negatively impacts the server's community environment.

3.0 - Chat Conduct
To maintain a clean, friendly, and enjoyable environment, we enforce the following rules regarding chat behaviour:

3.1 - No Spam or Flooding:

• 3.1.1 - Repeatedly posting the same message, meaningless text, or random characters is prohibited.
  
• 3.1.2 - Flooding the chat with excessive use of characters in words. (Example: nooooooooo)

3.2 - No Advertising

• 3.2.1 - Promoting external Minecraft servers, Discords, or other products unrelated to the server.
• 3.2.2 - Sharing personal social media accounts or unrelated content without permission.

3.3 - Keep Swearing Minimal: Occasional swearing is permitted but should never be directed at another player or used excessively.
3.4 - Avoid Excessive Caps: Using all capital letters in messages is considered shouting and disrupts the chat. Please use caps sparingly. 
3.5 - Respect the Tone of the Chat: Keep messages meaningful and appropriate for the server's diverse audience. Avoid behaviour that disrupts
others' experience.
3.6 - Language Usage: Simple Survival is an English-speaking server. On global channels, you should only speak English; other languages may be used in private chats, messages, and parties.
3.7 - Coloured Chat: Global chat is shared with everyone, and it is important that it remains clear and easy to read. Magic, flashing, or otherwise disruptive chat colours are not allowed.

4.0 - Impersonating Staff
Impersonating a staff member in any way is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to:

4.1 - Using Staff-like Usernames: Adopting usernames, nicknames, or suffixes that mimic or resemble those of staff members.
4.2 - Claiming False Authority: Pretending to be a staff member to manipulate, mislead, or intimidate other players.
4.3 - Using Staff-like Behaviours: Acting as if you have authority, such as issuing "warnings" or giving "official" instructions. 

5.0 - Respect for Builds and Property
All players must respect others' builds, property, and personal space. This is essential to maintain a positive and enjoyable environment for everyone. The following behaviours are strictly prohibited:

5.1 - Griefing: Breaking, modifying, or destroying another player's build or property.
5.2 - Stealing: Taking items or resources from chests, farms, or other property owned by another player.
5.3 - Claim Encroachment: Building within 50 blocks of another player's claim without their consent or obstructing their space in a way that disrupts their gameplay. 
5.4 - Trespassing: Entering someone's locked, claimed, or clearly marked private areas without permission. 

6.0 - Land Use and Construction Policy
To ensure the server remains enjoyable, fair, and appropriate for all players, the following rules must be observed regarding land claiming, builds, and signage:

6.1 - Claiming Land with No Intention to Use:

• 6.1.1 - Do not claim areas of land or valuable locations (e.g., strongholds, temples, ocean monuments, nether fortresses) if you do not intend to build or use them meaningfully.
  
• 6.1.2 - Claims that remain undeveloped for an extended period may be removed at the discretion of staff, or request from active players.

6.2 - Building Inappropriate Structures:

• 6.2.1 - Structures that are offensive, vulgar, or intend to insult, provoke, or offend others are strictly forbidden.
• 6.2.2 - Builds must adhere to the server's family-friendly atmosphere and not feature suggestive or explicit themes.

6.3 - Creating Signs with Explicit Messages:

• 6.3.1 - Signs, books, or other written materials containing explicit language, hate speech, or inappropriate content are not allowed.
• 6.3.2 - Messages designed to harass, insult, or provoke others are also prohibited.

6.4 - Destroying the world around you: Use the resource island for general item collection and mining where possible, mass destruction of the wilderness in the overworld, nether, or end, is not allowed. 

7.0 - Fair Play and Gameplay Integrity
Players have the right to play in a fair and exploit-free environment. Everyone is expected to follow the spirit of fair play and uphold the integrity of the server. Actions that disrupt or harm the experience of others are not allowed. 

7.1 - Use Permitted Modifications Only
Minecraft modifications can enhance the gameplay experience, but only certain types are allowed on Simple Survival. Below are the categories of modifications you are permitted to use:

• 7.1.1 - Client Performance Improvement Modifications: Optimise your Minecraft client's performance to improve FPS and reduce lag, without altering core gameplay mechanics.
• 7.1.2 - Aesthetic Modifications: Enhance the visual appearance of the game, such as shaders or resource packs, as long as they do not alter gameplay properties (e.g, no transparent blocks revealing hidden ores).
• 7.1.3 - Brightness & Gamma Adjustments: Modify brightness settings for better visibility in dark areas, provided no additional gameplay advantages are introduced.
• 7.1.4 - Cosmetic HUD Modifications: Adjust your HUD for better visual organisation, such as displaying armour durability or active status effects. However, HUDs providing extra information (e.g.,  opponent health, distance) not available in vanilla gameplay are not permitted.

Using any modifications that do not fit into the above categories is strictly prohibited.

7.2 - Use Game Features as Intended
Players should engage with the game and its mechanics as designed. To maintain balance and fairness:

• 7.2.1 - Do not exploit bugs or glitches for personal gain (e.g., item duplication, gaining perks, or bypassing mechanics).
• 7.2.2 - Do not artificially inflate stats, circumvent plugin features, gain experience through kill boosting, or similar activities. 

7.3 - Maintain Fair Gameplay Practices 
The following gameplay practices ensure fairness for all:

• 7.3.1 - Do not bypass server features (e.g., anti-AFK mechanisms) 
• 7.3.2 - Do not build contraptions that lag or disrupt the experience of other players (e.g., excessive Redstone clocks or entity cramming)
• 7.3.3 - Avoid creating chunk-loading devices to keep areas active when you are not present.
• 7.3.4 - Do not bypass chunk limits by building contraptions that aim to quickly move entities outside their spawn chunk to allow another entity to spawn.

7.4 - Respect Server Resources
Servers share resources among all players. To ensure smooth gameplay:

• 7.4.1 - Do not bypass the entity limitations imposed by the server and bypass the maximum allowed entity or material per chunk area. 
• 7.4.2 - Avoid creating unnecessarily large builds, machines, or farms that demand excessive server resources.

If a build causes server lag, you will be asked to modify or remove it. Staff may disable or remove lag-inducing builds if necessary.

7.5 - Engage in PvP Responsibly 
Player versus player (PvP) combat must be consensual:

• 7.5.1 - Do not set traps, use teleportation to place players in harm's way, or use devices such as end crystals, lava, or TNT to harm unsuspecting players.
• 7.5.2 - Only engage in PvP with players who have explicitly agreed to participate.

7.6 - Alt Account Limitations

• 7.6.1 - Players may only have one account logged into the server at a time unless explicitly approved by staff for legitimate purposes (e.g., event hosting).
• 7.6.2 - Using multiple accounts to gain advantages in gameplay, events, or the economy is strictly prohibited.
  • 7.6.2.1 - An exception is made for using multiple accounts to help promote the server, which has the side effect is gaining more vote rewards and a result.

7.7 - Market Fairness: Players are encouraged to trade and invest creatively, but behaviour that intentionally restricts access to items or disrupts the economy through unnecessary price inflation or market manipulation is not allowed. 

8.0 - Scamming and Dishonesty 
Scamming is not permitted on the server under any circumstances. All trades, transactions, bets, gambling, and interactions should be conducted honestly and in good faith. Examples of scamming include, but are not limited to:

• 8.1 - Asking other players to give you something with the promise that they will receive something in return and then not supplying it.
• 8.2 - Deliberately lying or misleading someone about an item to inflate its value. For example, claiming an item is rare and valuable when it is not.
• 8.3 - Not carrying out a trade as agreed. For example, accepting an item via a drop trade and not paying the agreed-upon amount directly to the player.
• 8.4 - Trying to get other players to accept a very unfair trade by being deceitful about the item's value.
• 8.5 - Tricking or deceiving a player into purchasing an item from a player shop without their knowledge.
• 8.6 - Tricking or deceiving a player into dropping items.
• 8.7 - Not presenting the rules and chances to win at player-made casinos and other gambling-related activities.
• 8.8 - Extorting money or items from a player as payment for the scammer to stop doing something. For example, to stop stealing drops from a public farm, you are currently using or to leave you alone and allow you to do something without interruption.
• 8.9 - Items on the auction house that are absurdly over the market value with the intention that someone will mistakenly purchase them. For example, selling a stick for $100,000
• 8.10 - Anything else that uses scamming techniques, dishonesty, misdirection or similar and results in a player losing items or wealth that they did not expect to lose.

9.0 - Threats, Harm, and Community Disruption

9.1 - Server Threats: Making threats to disrupt, shut down, or harm the server in any way, including but not limited to hacking, DDoS attacks, exploiting vulnerabilities, or any other form of technical sabotage.

9.2 - Community Disruption: Actions intended to harm the server's community, morale, or reputation are not allowed. This includes, but is not limited to:

• 9.2.1 - Slander and Defamation: Spreading false or misleading information about the server, its staff, or its players.
• 9.2.2 - Inciting Conflict: Deliberately creating or amplifying conflicts to divide the community or disrupt the server's harmony.
• 9.2.3 - Organised Attacks: Collaborating with others, both within and outside the server, to undermine or harm the server's reputation or player experience.
• 9.2.4 - False Reporting: Submitting false reports or accusations against players or staff with malicious intent.

10.0 - Additional Rules

10.1 - Trading and Real-World Transactions: Do not trade in-game items or currency for real-world money or items. Items on the server have no real-world value, and trading for real money puts you at risk of scams. Website purchases, such as gifting items, are allowed and protected by the server.

10.2 - Names and Skins: Use appropriate usernames and skins suitable for a family-friendly environment.

10.3 - Intellectual Property: Respect other players' creations, including map art, banners, and named items. Do not steal or replicate without permission.

10.4 - Player shops
Player shops on the server are an in-demand commodity; we try our best to make them as fair as possible and give everyone an equal chance to obtain and use this server aspect.

• 10.4.1 - You must use your shop plot to sell items to other players.
• 10.4.2 - Letting other players use your shop to sell their goods does not constitute you using the plot
• 10.4.3 - Any shops attempting to scam players will be removed.
• 10.4.4 - Any unused plots or plots used as a 'flex' or 'troll' without the intention to sell goods will be removed.
• 10.4.5 - You cannot charge a player more than you pay in rent to have shops on your plot if sharing.
• 10.4.6 - Do not place beacons in or around the shopping district.
• 10.4.7 - You may only rent a single shop plot at a time.
• 10.4.8 - You may not charge more than the value of four weeks' rent for a plot when selling it.
• 10.4.9 - Your shop must contain at least five chests selling unique items.
• 10.4.10 - Shops must be used to sell items. Buying is optional, but you cannot have a shop that only buys items.
• 10.4.11 - The shop owner must be the primary seller within the plot.
• 10.4.12 - Don't sell everyday items for high prices as a placeholder to keep an otherwise useless shop.

10.5 - Player Farms

• 10.5.1 - Only the player using a farm can make money from it.
• 10.5.2 - Farm owners may not:
  • 10.5.2.1 - Take a proportion of the loot earned by users.
  • 10.5.2.2 - Charge players to use their farms.
  • 10.5.2.3 - Use an alt account or hire others to AFK at farms.
  • 10.5.2.4 - Sell or rent access to farms or loot.
  • 10.5.2.5 - Allow another player to sell the drops from their soulbound farm(s)

10.6 - Staff and item Requests: Admins and above must remain impartial and cannot provide items, resources, or special treatment. Begging staff for items or favours is not allowed.

10.7 - Loans and Rentals: Do not loan or rent money, items, or resources to other players. Any loaned items or currency are considered traded and become the recipient's property.

10.8 - Ban Evasion: Interacting with the server in any way after you have been banned is strictly prohibited. This includes but is not limited to using alt accounts, changing IPs to bypass a ban, or asking others to carry out activities on your behalf. In addition to this, being cuffed on the server is a restriction on your gameplay which must be respected and not bypassed in any way. 

10.9 - Professional or Personal Services: Offering professional or personal services, including but not limited to therapy, counselling, or advice, is not allowed on the server. This is to ensure player safety and maintain the server's focus as a gaming community.

10.10 - Unauthorised Access: Players may not attempt to access servers, worlds, or areas that are not intended for public use, such as test worlds or staff-only areas, without explicit permission from staff.
